Singers like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra have left an indelible mark on American popular music through their jazz vocal stylings, fusing a conversational delivery with rhythmic and melodic improvisation. This course is tailored for each student to teach the unique characteristics of jazz singing and how to apply these characteristics to create your own sound. You will learn jazz phrasing, how to integrate good technique into jazz song styles, and how to sing with a number of time feels and grooves. The course focuses on jazz vocal technique and delivery, including use of vocal inflections, dynamics, articulation, and interpretation, and how to improvise through rhythmic and melodic phrasing. The course then will go deeper into jazz improvisation expanding the musical vocabulary of scat studying syllabels, rhythm, and melodic ideas. In this course we will apply these concepts to jazz tunes in various tempos and grooves, including ballads, medium swing, fast swing, and bossa nova. You'll move on to learn important considerations for effective stage presence and use of the microphone, too.

I have been teaching classical and electric guitar for 20 years to students of all ages (from 6 -7) and levels of preparedness. My classes are not just about learning, but also about the joy of playing the guitar while making the learning easy, stress-free, and most of all - fun, so you or your kids would want to continue! The classes can go from the basics to learning the scales and chords, transcribing the licks of your favorite guitar players, improvising solos and playing your favorite songs and compositions. I am a composer, pianist, teacher, and researcher based in Berlin. I hold a Bachelor's degree in jazz piano from the Conservatory of Vicenza, Italy, a Master's, and a PhD in composition from the University of Leeds, UK. In 2011, I attained a scholarship as promising student of the Conservatory of Vicenza. From 2006 to 2009 I was volunteer at a special needs-school, using music as a form of therapy. From 2013 to 2015 I studied Piano at the Conservatory ‘Prince Claus’ in Groningen, The Netherlands where I worked mostly as a performer. In 2019 my CD ‘Breaths’ was released by British label Another Timbre. My pieces have been broadcasted by Keith F’eM, Concertzender Radio, and Radio 3 and my scores have been published in IM–OS Improvised Music-Open Scores and THE MASS. I've been teaching piano, music theory, improvisation, and composition for 12 years now. When teaching I always attempt to organise targeted lessons that cover varying musical aspects depending on the students' skills and preferences. I teach either online or at the students' home., Charlottenburg-Berlin. I also offer engraving and arranging services.

I am currently involved in a large number of projects with various musical styles. My references include an appearance on the Dutch television station L1mburg TV, as well as a concert on the public radio program NPO Jazz in the Netherlands, as well as appearances at various jazz festivals, including North Sea Jazz Rotterdam, JazzOut Limburg and the Göttingen Jazz Festival. Music has accompanied me since early childhood. I started playing the flute when I was five and the saxophone when I was nine. After gaining a lot of experience in big bands, funk/soul bands, rock bands and other projects, my interests culminated in studying jazz and saxophone at the Maastricht Conservatory, which I successfully completed in 2021. About the lesson: It's not just about jazz. You determine the style of music. Whether pop, funk or soul, I'm open to everything. Reflection is the be-all and end-all. I'll teach you music theory and everything to do with sax. The feel and the fun of making music is always the focus. You decide which direction we take. If desired, improvisation plays a major role. The course is suitable for all ages and levels. I take the time to adapt to you and to fulfill your wishes e.g. music style, direction etc.. The lessons take place in my own studio, at your home or online via webcam. No saxophone or previous knowledge necessary.

My classes are aimed at people of all ages or levels and with an interest in any musical genre (classical, jazz, pop/rock, blues, folk and improvisation). I have 3 years of experience teaching clarinet, the lessons are personalized based on each student's interests. We set goals that we develop in the lessons. They are divided into three areas, the technical skills of the instrument, the training of the ear for the interpretation and the theory as a common language. I teach everything your heart desires in German, English and Arabic and look forward to exploring the clarinet with you.
