Students will learn to improvise and learn how to structure songs, as well as the basis of music theory. From a very young age I had a passion for rhythm, so naturally, percussion was my choice. I've been studying percussion and music theory for over 15 years now, and I would like to share my knowledge with whoever shares this passion.

Entre-temps, j'ai également travaillé comme professeur au Conservatoire de musique de Xinghai à Guangzhou, en Chine, principalement comme professeur de musique et comme coordinateur du département de World Music du conservatoire. Ich begann 2017 mein Studium am Conservatorium Maastricht bei Arnoud Gerritse und Ron van Stratum und schloss dieses erfolgreich 2021 ab. Neben diversen Bandprojekten im Bereich des Rock, Jazz, HipHop und anderen verwandten Musikrichtungen, gebe ich seit etwa 5 Jahren auch Unterricht und da ich nun nach meinem Bachelor nach Köln gezogen bin, möchte ich diesen auch hier anbieten. Der Unterricht richtet sich sowohl an Anfänger als auch an Fortgeschrittene und kann auch als Vorbereitung zur Aufnahmeprüfung genutzt werden.

I teach on all levels, beginner to professional. I would love to see you in a band context. We could work together on your technique, tuning your instrument, right position on your drumset and all the music stuff from rock over latin to jazz. If you want to know not just about drum techniques and playing, but also about its history and musicianship, you'll definitely have a unique experience with my lessons. I believe drumming is not just about playing and knowing your chops, but also about being able to listen to others in the band and make sure you "be" part of the music, without resorting to thrashing around and proving to others what kind of noise you can make. Hence the phrase "A band should be as good as its drummer". :) Drumming is undoubtedly a way of building up your self-confidence, in order to establish your identity. The drums are a great use to channel your emotions, so long as you don't have to pull a Keith Moon. ;) I can also add keyboards to the mix.... But why is it relevant for a drummer, you may ask? Well, although it may look the contrary from the outside, having an ear for other instruments and chords is absolutely essential, because both your drumming nd ability to improvise contributes to the atmosphere of each song.
