One-to-one music lessons inspired by the teachings of Suzuki, Havas, Hoppenot, and Galway. The lessons are adjusted according to age, level, and interests. The most important is that the student will learn in an enjoyable way for them. It is only possible to take 45 min. lessons when the student receives more than one lesson a week -which is highly recommended for anyone that might want to become a professional musician. Lessons longer than an hour are also possible for anyone over 14 years old. Other possibilities, a combination of instrumental/theory lessons and prices can be discussed.

Hello, welcome to my profile! My name is Richard, nice to meet you! I'm a Dutch (Netherlands) piano teacher and concert pianist with 25 years of experience. As a piano teacher, I have extensive experience with students of all ages and levels, as well as different music styles. I hold a Master's degree in Music in both piano performance and as a piano teacher. For the past 25 years, I have been teaching piano lessons (both individual and group lessons) at several music schools in the Netherlands, as well as private piano lessons in various European countries and the USA. I'm available for in-person piano lessons at your home or at my studio, but I can also teach online (via Zoom), if you prefer so. I speak fluent English, Spanish, German, Dutch, and basic Italian, so I can teach in all of these languages. As a concert pianist, I have made numerous concert tours as a soloist and played with renown orchestras in several countries, including Germany, France, the Netherlands, UK, and United Arab Emirates. Furthermore, I won prizes in several prestigious piano competitions, made various TV-, radio and album recordings, and attended masterclasses with world-renown pianists such as the master pianists Murray Perahia, Jacques Rouvier, Emanual Ax and Igor Roma. My piano lessons are for students of all ages and levels, who would like to learn or improve their piano playing. Although my background is in classical repertoire, I also have experience in teaching popular and film music, among other types of music. I love all kinds of music, and I'm definitely open to teaching you how to play your favorite songs. My lessons include learning and improving piano technique, reading sheet music (if not already mastered), playing by ear, music theory, musicality development, and fostering enjoyment in playing this beautiful instrument. 🎓📜 Master’s degree in Saxophone Performance and Music Pedagogy, Sibelius Academy 2025 🎓📜 Bachelor studies in Saxophone Performance and Music Pedagogy, University of Cologne (Germany) 2022 Diogo is a curious musician, being part of different projects such as the Kaamos Duo (contemporary music for saxophone and soprano singer), chamber music with pianist Lambis Pavlou and Cantus Portugueses (traditional portuguese music with a modern twist). He also plays as a member of the contemporary music groups Korvat Auki and the Nyky Ensemble. His main musical interests at the moment are the collaborations with living composers, chamber music with different ensembles, and interdisciplinary improvisation. Diogo performances have taken place in many venues such as the Philharmonie of Essen, OrchesterZentrum Dortmund, Music Center Helsinki, Turku Castle, Liceu Auditorium Barcelona, Casa da Música do Porto, and many more. Diogo's recognition includes prizes in some international competitions and the recent recognition at the 2022 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy competition for Contemporary Ensembles and the recent participation at the prestigious Josip Nochta Competition in Zagreb, Croatia. Diogo teaches all saxophones and ensemble playing in Portuguese, Spanish, English and German.
